Frequently Asked Questions
How are the New Jersey Devils lines on this page decided?
The depth chart is ordered by Goals Above Replacement within each position group, not by a coach's announced lines. It reflects who played and how well, so it can differ from the projected lines published before a game. Real line combinations, measured from who was on the ice together, are on the Team Impact page.
Who is the New Jersey Devils starting goaltender?
2 goaltenders dressed for the New Jersey Devils in 2026-27; the depth chart lists them in order of value, with goals saved above expected (GSAx) rather than raw save percentage.
